”Seize the moments of happiness, love and be loved! That is the only reality in the world, all else is folly”. –Tolstoy-
This is a very interesting thought. At one point in my life, I would have believed it to be the truth. Of course those of us on a similar spiritual path to mine, know “happiness, love, and being loved” are not a static state of being. These are places to which we practice returning to frequently. The challenge is: How do we stay present with all the moments we are in?
I have found that if I also “seize” the “folly”, that is, be as present as I can in any given moment, even the difficult and uncomfortable ones, my life as a whole is richer than I could have imagined.
I am frequently struck that no matter who speaks a truth…when we hear it or read it, it touches us to the depths of our souls.
