An Optimists Path to Gratitude, by Suzy Newman

"A pessimist is one who makes difficulties of his opportunities and an optimist is one who makes opportunities of his difficulties."
                                                                        - Harry Truman

Another reminder, it is how we think about the events of our lives not the actual events themselves.  I like being a person who sees the glass half full.  It helps me feel the primary pain of difficult times.  I have come to know that pain is just that -- pain.  It is a natural part of life.  “Difficult times” doesn't mean I'm a bad person or that I have done things to deserve the pain.  It is about feeling my feelings without judging them, or myself.  This process allows me to move through to grace and true gratitude.
