Danielle Gilbert's career has spanned the corporate, education, nonprofit, philanthropic, and integrative health sectors, beginning with sales at Dell Technologies, where she managed multimillion-dollar accounts, including a long-term onsite assignment at the Mayo Clinic. Despite her success in the corporate world, she felt drawn toward work centered more directly on people and service and left Dell to teach second grade at an inner-city school in Austin, Texas.
After moving to Nashville, Danielle entered the nonprofit sector as Director of Employment at Community Options, Inc., an organization serving people with significant disabilities. There, she established a Supported Employment Program designed to create opportunities for individuals with disabilities to participate in meaningful work. She developed partnerships with Nashville-area businesses, managed grant funding, and successfully secured funding from the State of Tennessee to support the program.
Danielle later joined The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, where she managed two community-based programs. Tapping Individual Potential provided talented students with access to enrichment opportunities that otherwise might have been out of reach because of financial limitations. Cooks Academy partnered with Nashville preschool programs to improve the quality of food and nutrition provided to young children.
Her professional path eventually converged with a growing interest in health and healing. After becoming a Certified Health and Life Coach, Danielle worked extensively with Gilda's Club of Middle Tennessee, providing one-on-one health coaching to people affected by cancer and developing What Feeds You, a six-class nutrition and wellness series. She taught the program for seven years, reaching hundreds of participants. Her contributions to the organization and its community were recognized with the Dr. Gail Addlestone Community Building Award.
Danielle subsequently joined The Estuary Center for Healing, a Nashville nonprofit with a 31-year history of integrating mind, body, and spirit in the healing process. After initially contributing to classes and curriculum development, she now serves as Director of Vision and Programming. In this role, she helps shape the organization's strategic and creative direction, develops programming and educational initiatives, and works alongside a team dedicated to bringing The Estuary into its next phase of growth.
Across a career that has moved from technology and education to nonprofit leadership, philanthropy, health, and healing, Danielle's work has remained grounded in a central belief: that people and communities have an extraordinary capacity for growth and healing when they are given the opportunity, resources, and support to discover what is possible.
