Jenny Emerson, LMFT
Integrative Therapist
Jenny is not currently accepting new clients.
Jenny has over a decade of experience assisting clients heal trauma, loss, anxiety, and depression. Her background in the healing industry includes a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Certification as a Licensed Massage Therapist. While she has retired from massage therapy, she continues to use the knowledge and experience gained to help clients heal the physical/emotional connection of trauma.
Jenny works from the belief that what has happened in your life is part of your story, but it is not what defines you. She uses trauma healing techniques such as EMDR, Brainspotting, and Experiential therapies to help you create emotional distance between the pain from what happened and where you are now. While it is not possible to erase the past, it IS possible to have peace, confidence, and joy in your life.
Many clients have found it helpful that she began her career in the corporate world and understands the demands of balancing work, home, and trying to figure out how to “keep going.” Her background includes leadership development, corporate training, sales and customer service.
Through her own experience and training, Jenny has learned some key aspects of healing:
Life doesn’t go back to the way it was - it grows in a new way and surprisingly enough that is actually okay
People really don’t know what to say or do when it’s not happening to them
There is NOT a timetable for healing or stages to work through. Everyone’s path is different.
Most importantly, it gets better! You learn to breathe again, to smile again, and to live again.
